Pastor, Lisa and I, as well as the entire Beulah family, wish you the highest, kindest, and most joyous blessings of God as you celebrate you anniversary/retirement. The advice and wisdom you have given me through the years has been most beneficial. You have always considered Lisa and I (and our 4 children) as family. Thank you! Plus the nearly 15 years or so that you had me preach your Youth Revival strengthened me as a preacher and eventually Pastor. Thank you. Be blessed!!!

Pastor, there are times I have heard you speak about some of our church members wearing many hats and wearing them well. When I think about you being equipped with the spiritual gifts I believed God has blessed you with, I can truly say that you have been a wearer of many hats and wore them all very well in the service of the Lord. And, I would like to take this opportunity on the behalf of my family & myself to say thank you for being there for us, and the love you have shown so many times down through the years. Praying God's richest blessings & love will continue to rain down upon you and congregation on 50 years of outstanding and faithful service as Pastor of The St. Matthews Baptist Church that has elevated beyond and above any I have known.

Pastor Washington,
What a BLESSING you are and have been to me and my family. Because of Who You Are, I know God has smiled on the Don L. Jackson, Sr. family. You have been with us in happy and sad times. THANK YOU!! Congratulations on your upcoming 50th Pastoral Anniversary. You have allowed the Lord to use you to bring God's Word to the saved to strengthen them and the unsaved so that we might have a right to the tree of life. I'm thankful the Lord tugged at my heart that Sunday in October, 1981 when I accepted Him into my life. You've helped me to grow in the Lord as you are still helping many others now. I know God is beaming also at how you have worked in His vineyards. As you look forward to your RETIREMENT, know we, as God, can say "Well done Good and Faithful Servant. I am soooo proud of you and especially proud to say You are My Pastor. God's Blessings Always!!!! Much Love.

To God be all the glory, for giving you the strength and perseverance, to be able to faithfully deliver his word, for fifty plus years. Congratulations , on your most well deserved retirement.

Congratulations Pastor Washington on your retirement. You will be deeply missed. I want to thank you for being a great inspiration to me as well as my family. Thank you for always showing up, supporting, and most of praying for us when you were called upon. You should have your picture in Webster’s Dictionary under “ A True Man of God”! Again, congratulations on 50 years of leadership as the pastor of the best church this side of Heaven. May God continue to bless you and be with you. To God be the glory for He has and is doing great things!

Pastor Washington you have been such a blessing to not only me, but my family and friends. If I need you I know you will be there. I’ve asked you to call and pray for family and friends during some of their difficult times and you did just that. I think some of them believe you are their pastor too.
I’ve enjoyed your spirit-filled sermons. I’m still reflecting on the very appropriate sermon you preached on the 1st Sunday of 2019 “Officers and Leaders Working for The Lord”. It was very timely and thought provoking.
My family and I are going to miss you so much. It is such a blessing to count on you Pastor Washington to support us during the good times and not so good times.
You have earned the right to retire from being a Pastor, but not from preaching and sharing God’s word.
Welcome to the retirement club!

Dear Pastor Washington,
Thank you for always being available. Mostly I thank you for being a true man of God who preached God’s truth. I am selfishly sorry you are retiring, but you have earned it and I wish you a blessed retirement.

You are the only Pastor I've known and worship under for 50 plus years of my life. Just like Obama is my President of this great country for life; you are my Pastor/Spiritual Leader for life. If I failed to tell you, please know you are so much appreciated! THANK YOU Pastor Washington for your great, spiritual leadership!!

You have blessed my two Sons when you baptized them and for always being there to talk to them. They will never forget this or your encouraging them all. Thank you for the hospital visits with my youngest son as well as with me. You are such a loving person. My fiancé Jeffrey says congratulations as well as my family. Congratulations on your retirement. You deserve to do or not do whatever you want to after that. To God be the glory for you. Thanks for everything, with love .

Rev., You are a true example of a great pastor. I applaud you for your victory of serving the Lord with gladness, faithfulness and great compassion for 50 years. If an Oscars were given for the most awesome pastor, I would nominate you. I'm so proud to call you pastor. I pray that God will continue to richly bless you, watch over you and grant you joy and happiness in the years ahead. Congratulation on your retirement and thank you for always being there for me and my family.

Pastor Washington - I can't express the wonderful feeling to be sharing my personal and spiritual times with you. There has never been a time that you failed to respond when i needed you -- day or night. I knew i would hear from you by email or phone call if i needed you. The many years of travel (and there were many - more than 23) when i lived in Baltimore, i still made the drive to St. Matthews because i had the best Pastor; a caring Pastor. I have no regrets and remain a faithful member under the best Pastor ever.

Everything is worth it. The times you’re tired. The times you’re a bit sad. In the end it’s all worth it. I am more than certain that you have made your 50 years at St. Matthews worth it. There are not enough words of thanks to express how grateful I am to have you as a pastor and family. Many blessings ahead.

Over the years, Rev. Washington has been given the vision of helping our youth here at St. Matthews. He has established "The Maxwell M. Washington Scholarship Fund." This scholarship supplies monetary assistance to college students who don't qualify for the church's scholarship program. It has given motivation to students who are trying to be all that they can be. Thank you Rev. Washington for sharing this vision and reminding us that " A mind is a terrible thing to waste!"

There have been so many times that our Pastor has been given his vision from the Lord. I think about our move from 1105 New Jersey Ave. It was a bold step to leave a location where we were comfortable and familiar. Our pastor's vision and faith in God lead us from our old location to a wonderful new church home at 2001 Brooks Drive. There were challenges and setbacks along the way, but the church never lost our faith and trust in God or being that warm and friendly church St. Matthews is known for. Thank you Rev for leading us and following your vision.

I have been constantly amazed at how Pastor Washington not only sees the spiriual gifts in others, but at how he helps them embrace their gifts. Pastor's leadership has helped me, and others, see their potential which, in turn, contributes to the upbuilding of His kingdom. Thank you, Pastor, for always believing in me; and for having a vision of what I could contribute to St. Matthews even when i didn't see it.
